Possessiveness: once again it is all mine

Lovely isn’t it?

To create that piece of art takes lots of patience and I mean lots in huge bundles as the work is very fiddly. It requires concentration, dedication, and TIME.

Time is one of the most precious tools when creating art. Artists could paint a picture in five minutes as it could take up to years to complete it.

In this case where Julie Roces the designer, a colleague in Philippines delights us with her creativity that it must had taken a considerable numbers of days to develop the above creation. I calculate about 1-2 weeks to complete the pattern during long hours a day and it must had taken about 3-5 days to complete the whitework which is the actual card you are looking at.

Opposite picture of a sample of the actual design for the above card. Julie Roces©2007.

Browsing through my once upon parchment it brought memories to a sting I went through with a pattern of mine, an experience that related to a situation I had to face few days ago.

Long ago I designed a card for Julie’s birthday, it was meant for her, I created the card, posted it and I kept my pattern. A year later browsing one of the craft’s sites another parcher had displayed "my" design created on a card of hers and she was offering my pattern as a free gift as her design. Politely I asked her to remove the pattern as it was not hers but the ones benefiting from the “freebie” made me an ogre and a dispute started.

I fought about my “possession” "it was mine", at the end it was just a pattern I could had recreated on another application and learn from that experience, “it was mine” , I was attached to that work and part of me was stolen, so I felt. As the years pass by my tools are still waiting to be caressed by my fingers… hmmm maybe one day Julie, maybe one day.

Since I was born I was very independent, and possessive with what it is mine. I only shared with my sister. As I grew older I became possessive with my work.

My work became my signature, my icon, my identity. Nothing wrong with this quite the opposite, I am very proud of my work, very proud of my successes and also I am proud when I step on the mud without invitation because I feel I need to do it.

Being my work I find it difficult to accept that my efforts get thwarted carelessly by the deceitful. I have been in and out of court for intellectual property cases, oooh those copyrights are a very sensitive topic with me. By the way Julie, thanks for the photos.

Being retired it should mean I am not working at all, fortunately work we do since we are born. As babies we sleep and drink, as children we play and study, as adults we work for reward and as elderly we enjoy life the best we can, all these are wrapped up as WORK. Some activities are joyful others bearable and to some we just conform ourselves to do our best.

In the past year through my activism I spent a lot of time helping others, there have been situations where people find themselves without identity, displaced, no place to call home due to their governments, wanting to adapt to new ways and customs.

I took the task of helping some with their challenges to become refugees, reading forms, finding information, where they could go to stay, locating maps and the list goes on, it became a full-time job. It was my WORK as in MINE, although I was committed it was not one of my obligations neither any of my priorities.

Some trusted me, others just had no choice others thought I was their slave to do as I was told at the call of theirs wishes.

It did not matter for a while, but when I found out that my “golden time” was stage-managed then my possessive side flared out claiming ownership for what it was mine and it should had not been jeopardized by their irresponsible and uncontrolled personal matters.

Once more I found myself attached to the idea that work is a vital part of me, I let my temper flare out and the persons that caused the outburst were gifted with the negative side of me.

Now my questions are:

How to detach from possessiveness?

What do I have to do to curve the possessive side of me and learn to let go?

Maybe I need to learn to detach from other’s misery and let them find their own way, we learn as we go in life, we learn on our last breath. Thank you Thomas.

Have a great weekend.

What have I done to be proud of myself today?

Quite interesting question…

I was me all day

I was on receiving mood all day

I needed no nappy change all day

I did not wet the bed either… hooray for that

I did not skid my boxers either

I typed and submitted a post before I left to hospital

I went to hospital for 2nd day treatment

I gave my best blood to Dracula

I was a nice girl under the scanner… not behind the bushes nonono

I looked for information on how to stop a pain that is becoming chronic

I found out that gooood girls girls girls are bad ladies

I wrote a love letter to a friend and posted

I ate curry tonight … not a good idea I should leave that to the lady

And I just got home…

Today has been a great day for me, better than yesterday, although yesterday was good too…

So sad
So sorry
I could not hang my head …

Oh I made another real friend on my way home… lunch tomorrow… tuc tuc

Whatever I do, it is good I do it because it makes me feel good, do I need permission to feel good? naaaaaaah

Think about that. Something is seriously awry when ones self-esteem is so low you cannot feel proud of your own accomplishments without someone else also giving you credit.

Something is not well when you need someone to reassure you exist, when you cannot function as an individual, when you are a dependent then you are not You, you are just someone's echo.

Start by trusting yourself, start by believing in yourself first, start by being honest to yourself first, see for that which makes you happy, once you find it, it will guide you to create more and more...

No one can make us happy if we do not know who we are and what we want.
No one can love us the way we want if wed do not know how to love ourselves first

What do you want now?
Ask and it is given anytime you want it

Everything is possible only if you want it...

More on self trust coming soon...

A Lady's Repute

Behind the bushes, wouldn't be loverly my lady?

Who is a lady?
A well-mannered and considerate woman with high standards of proper behavior.
A woman of refinement.

Which qualities make a lady?

A woman regarded as proper and virtuous.
A well-behaved young girl.
A woman who is the head of a household.
A woman, especially when spoken of or to in a polite way.

What is a lady address?

It is a title, in the old days it was given to royalty to designate their social status.
In these modern days it is a "name" given to a woman.
A general feminine title of nobility and other rank, specifically: used as a title to address female royalty.

And also is one of the many names for; Cocaine.

These days females receive this polite addressing, “Ask the lady in purple…”, “See the lady at the end of the corridor”
But I have never heard of, “it was the lady behind the bushes…”.

Then, in these modern times, what is the personal role of the lady?

A lady apart from being a virtuous, well-mannered person is someone who takes care of her environment, her person, her emotions.
A lady takes responsibility for herself, for her body, maintains her principles high at all times.
A lady knows where to go, when and why.

In royal circles ladies were a mix of; kind people and there are well known selfish royals named somewhere in the books.

During my early childhood, ladies were kind, generous people helping and caring for others. "Oh that lady smelled nice", that was because the lady was nice... "she bought me a rag doll"...

Well… I am half way there as I am a tomboy and I love mischief. Knowing well who I am, I make sure I remain within my boundaries in relation to my personal standards. To lower myself for a moment of passion it would mean to effect my life for the rest of my natural existence.

Thievery, abortion, deceit behaviour fit the lower social classes, due to lack of education, due to lack of resources available to improve their lives.

What is the point to follow careers, invest the sacrifices of our parents to send us to become better people if in a low moment of temptation, all those sacrifices go down the drain due to weakness and lack of control on the emotions.

Not only "the lady" in question suffers with misbehaviour, the rest of the family have to put up with the penalties.

Reputation is not a custom, reputation is the standard of qualities of a person, it could be good as it could be appalling.

This is in response to a mistake experienced by people who strongly believe in "ethnic customs".
I have lived in this modern world for many years, I only follow what "my book" dictates, which is my conscience.

Being a prudish is someone else's role. I enjoy my outings, I enjoy male companionship and at all times I keep my head on my shoulders, I make sure I am safe and well protected, my body is my temple and I love enjoying my body for few more decades to come as I love my sanity. Hurting myself and others due to my weakness would be incomprehensible not an alternative.

OLD FASHIONED FRIENDSHIP

History of the Word Friend
Word History:
A friend is a lover, literally. The relationship between Latin am cus "friend" and am "I love" is clear, as is the relationship between Greek philos "friend" and phile "I love."

In English, though, we have to go back a millennium before we see the verb related to friend. At that time, fr ond, the Old English word for "friend," was simply the present participle of the verb fr on, "to love."

The Germanic root behind this verb is *fr -, which meant "to like, love, be friendly to." Closely linked to these concepts is that of "peace," and in fact Germanic made a noun from this root, *frithu-, meaning exactly that.

Ultimately descended from this noun are the personal names Frederick, "peaceful ruler," and Siegfried, "victory peace." The root also shows up in the name of the Germanic deity Frigg, the goddess of love, who lives on today in the word Friday, "day of Frigg," from an ancient translation of Latin Veneris di s, "day of Venus." ---As per our reliable and best FRIEND the dictionary

I am less familiar with this history I still practice the old fashioned friendship where sex is not invited at all. My belief is that sex could affect the friendly relationship and complicates life. To step from friendship into a loving relationship is a huge risk and a big decision for the ones involved, it is a step where unconditional love falls that makes us confident to establish a long term relationship.

I am one of those persons where intimacy is linked to attachment causing grave emotions and situations. I rather have romping dates, this way I know who is who.

BROADMINDED FRIENDSHIP or FRIENDSHIP WITH BENEFITS

Now this is more the modern “Friendship” I have learned to accept these days. I call it more, “friendship with overtime duties conveniently sided”. I am happy picking up my poncho any time and walking away, I wash my socks when it suits me and I keep my purse to myself, I am still trying to find the meaning of sharing. Oooh how sad…
Maybe one day I am ready to share at the moment I am happy the way my life is.

These days, financially it is the best way to enjoy a comfortable lifestyle by holding to a “friend”. Fortunately I am very independent, this friendship suits me not.

Lack of Self-Esteem, duplicity, enslavement tend to misunderstand friendship. Many times people think that friendship and love, well ‘romantic love’ are the same and many times we see people that they are attached to the lover for the wrong reasons. Eventually they will walk away from each other and their worlds collapse.

Lack of self-esteem blocks them from making friends, true friends. Emotional upbringing makes them dependable seeking for that ‘hand contact’ reassuring them that everything is ok, the world is pinky to them as long that “warm hand” is there but if it is not then their world becomes depressive.

Lust goes with broadminded friendship and it could turn into love as long as the person’s self-esteem is strong to be self. Knowing the freedom to be self and wanting to share with the other person. Knowing they are confident within themselves to fully function on their own as creative individuals.
True Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres. Love never fails. —I Corinthians 13:4-8a (NIV)
Love is best seen as devotion and action, not an emotion. Love is not exclusively based on how we feel. Certainly our emotions are involved, but they cannot be our only criteria for love. True devotion will always lead to action—true love. We are in full control of our emotions, when we are ready to share our game we express it with sex therefore, love is action not an emotion.

When we are “in love” as in romantic love, we are so full with the feeling and even from the distance we are capable of filling the other person up with a word, with a graphic smiley, a phone call, a letter. When a person misses a loved one to fall into depression, it only happens because the person lacks the feeling, the feeling is not within the person missing the other.

LUST is just that… PURE Sex… get few drinks and get in the mood and "I do not remember.. it wasn't me" – another post about this topic coming soon.

PURE LOVE or UNCONDITIONAL LOVE

You do not love me anymore you do not write me as you used to,
you do not buy me diamonds anymore,
you do not buy me flowers anymore,
if you love me you would marry me even I don’t love you…

all these are “conditions” to prove love for other person… this type of love carries a measure tape

Love

UNCONDITIONAL LOVE

It is just that ‘no conditions’, accepting the person with faults and virtues. This Love is divine, our Creator gifts us with his eternal love, the love of a mother is unconditional for her child.

Even though a person has more faults than virtues, those faults are the essence of his existence and we have no right to force the person to change, we can only guide the person to see if it is convenient to make some changes for the good of the person.

Unconditional love makes us see our faults, it stop us from hurting each other, it makes us take responsibility for our errors, we make the decisions to step into action therefore we take the responsibility for the results.

Unconditional love needs no proof, it needs not display, it feels so warm and the energy to be it makes you wonderful, floating on pink clouds all the time. Everything around you turns up your way when you are full up with unconditional love.

I felt it, but lately I experienced a leak. I must find it and parch it.

Many times we give love to the person who does not want it and it chews our personal energy. It drains us in such a way we need to recharge.

Where there is FRIENDSHIP, UNCONDITIONAL LOVE reigns.

Where there is Love, obstacles melt, opening the way to sharing because love is Bright Light.

AGE IRRELEVANT TO FRIENDSHIP

And back into the Old Fashioned Friendship, where age has no place in deciding who I chose to be friends with.

Through the pass of the years I have built up “true” friendships going back to over 30 years now. These people located all over the world manage to make time to meet me and the rest of the group, but we are from the old school, do modern friends practice this ritual?

People from different ages, backgrounds and status in life, when we meet we look forward our joy to spend that glorious time together by reporting all past’s years happenings, travelling through the memory lane and or sharing future plans. I still attend Christmas parties from jobs I held 30 years ago, the places are non-existing anymore, the people are still there.

Young people from overseas I met online at my early web-beginnings have come to meet me and it was a magnificent exchange, we still keep in contact and amazingly we share a much richer trust. One of the reasons why I keep my domain as that is one of the ways to be located.

People my age have more common interests making it more a social gathering to exchange happy and not so happy times with each other, we are closer to contact.

People in my locality are a mixed age group as well with different views, interests, activities and we all manage to enjoy FRIENDSHIP considering the difference of ages. The FRIENDSHIP is a learning experience for the young ones and for the much older at the same time the fun reigns.

Having a 14 year old coming to tell me “all about her new feelings… oh mum will freak out if she finds out… “ it is sweet as also it is very emotional to have them inviting you for a cuppa to show me some of her masterpieces from art school and giving me hints how to improve my craft… it is a two way road.

A much older in his mid 20s came to find out “how to find out the ‘pattern’ of a person as in unfaithful pattern. The friendship becomes sort of counseling as well as few days ago these young ones were there for me, “dump the ageist” after a past friend manipulated my friendship towards his goals, manipulating my time, my efforts, at periods demanding my skilled support when I faced difficulties to work with him from the distance. My young friends knew how harder I worked to help others and they saw that my efforts were missing appreciation.

Love is there in many ways, we just have to appreciate it and I am blessed to have such a LOVING RAINBOW, I am grateful to all my friendships.

A Moment of Nothingness

Being a dragon - evolving from having been a snake,
However there is no dragon crest to raise high.
Having imprinted configurations
On ones’ palms,
Yet there is no sign of luck to be proud of.

Everybody enters the race in the river
through their own preparation,
However, when one meets the waterfall unexpectedly,
Some ‘free-riders’ downstream scream in shock,
And some struggling upstream against the tide finally become helpless.

Numbers are increasing year after year,
However, there is no actual age to show people.

It could be still be called a life
Because we are still living and struggling,
However, there is no actual meaning to express.

the TRUTH finds its way OUT
